Brackets is a community run organisation and we rely on committed volunteers to run our events and to get involved with the many festivals and other initiatives that we support. Being a Brackets volunteer can be very rewarding, being part of running sucessful events, learning new skills and working togethr with a great bunch of new friends…
anyone can be part of creating something special for the Central Coast.
These are just a few of the ways you can get involved:
Brackets and Jam Committee
Our committee meets once a month to plan the events. We share tasks such as publicity, organising acts, accounts and administration.
On the event nights our volunteers help set up, stage manage, mc, help with the catering, take money on the gate and help clean up at the end of the night.
The catering is also totally managed by volunteers.
We encourage and support our volunteers who wish to attend training courses which would be relevant to the organisation.
We are are allways in need of more helpers to keep Brackets going, so if you feel you can help in anyway please become a member of Brackets and Jam by registering online.
If you would like to volunteer but have a problem with the annual membership fee of $25 please contact us.
We have Volunteer Accident Insurance which basically covers medical costs related to an insured person whilst actually engaged in voluntary work including necessary direct travel to & from such voluntary work officially organised by and under the control of Brackets.
All of our acts perform free of charge, but in a great environment and to a very supportive crowd, they get to experiment and interact with other artists and performers. We will hopefully help them in return, by exposing them to the public, and promoting them in the media. We will also now be able to offer all of our acts an entry in our performers database here on-line.
We are also members of Volunteering Central Coast [Membership Code: BAJ] the regional arm of Volunteering Australia which provides us with support for our volunteers and directs potential volunteers to our organisation.
